Privacy Policy
Information provided pursuant to Articles 13–14 of the GDPR 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation)
Pursuant to Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR), we hereby provide the following information regarding the processing of personal data.
1. Purposes of data processing
Your personal data may be processed for the following purposes:
a) to enable and manage your registration;
b) to allow you to access and use the products and/or services, and to benefit from the activities and services associated with your membership of the selected programme;
c) for administrative and accounting purposes and to comply with obligations under current legislation;
d) for marketing purposes, subject to your specific consent, such as: sending informational and commercial communications, including promotional material (such as our newsletter), advertising material and/or offers of goods and services, by any means, including, but not limited to, post, the Internet, telephone, email, MMS and SMS including communications sent from Italy or from countries outside the European Union.
We would like to remind you that, with regard to the purposes set out in points (a), (b) and (c), the provision of your personal data is mandatory. Any refusal on your part and/or the provision of inaccurate and/or incomplete information would prevent:
– with regard to the purpose referred to in point (a): your registration in the In Love With Words database
-with regard to the purpose referred to in point (b): your ability to access and use the products and/or services and participate in activities reserved for members of In Love With Words;
with regard to the purpose referred to in point c): for In Love With Words, to carry out administrative and accounting activities and to ensure the proper fulfilment of obligations.
With regard to the additional purposes set out in point (d), the provision of your personal data and your consent to the processing of such data for the aforementioned purposes is optional. However, any refusal on your part to provide your data and/or consent to processing for the aforementioned purposes, and/or the provision of inaccurate and/or incomplete information, may prevent In Love With Words from sending you promotional communications;
2. Methods of Processing
Your Personal Data will be processed using appropriate paper-based, electronic and/or digital means, in accordance with procedures strictly related to the purposes set out above and, in any event, in such a way as to ensure the security and confidentiality of the Data. If a user logs in to or registers for In Love With Words services using the login credentials of a social network (for example, Facebook or Twitter, hereinafter referred to as ‘Social Networks’) or (ii) links their account to an account held by the same user on a Social Network, In Love With Words may receive data relating to the user from that Social Network, in accordance with the terms of use and the provisions of the Social Network’s privacy policy. In Love With Words may add such information to the user’s data already collected through its services. Should the user choose to share information with these social networks, In Love With Words receives the data from them in accordance with the consent options provided by the user. Any Personal Data disclosed by the social network will be subject to that social network’s terms and conditions of use.
3. Disclosure of data
Your Personal Data will be processed exclusively by employees of In Love With Words or by parties providing services on its behalf that are necessary for the purposes set out herein, including, without limitation, parent companies, subsidiaries, associated companies and/or affiliated companies, and, in any event, exclusively by authorised and designated staff. Your Personal Data, where specific consent has been given in accordance with point (d) above, may also be disclosed to suppliers, contractors, subcontractors, banks and/or insurance companies, or other parties and/or organisations that (on behalf of In Love With Words) manage and/or maintain the websites and electronic and/or telematic tools used by In Love With Words; to send you information and promotional communications, including those of a commercial nature, advertising material and/or offers of goods and services; to carry out profiling activities, including the analysis of your habits, tastes, preferences and consumption choices, as well as the preparation and conduct of market studies and research.
4. Duration of processing and criteria used for the retention of Personal Data
For the marketing purposes referred to in point (d) of paragraph 2, ‘Purposes of Processing’, of this privacy notice, your personal data will be processed until such time as the data subject withdraws their consent.
The data will be retained in accordance with the following criteria: – Data processed for the purpose of joining/registering for the loyalty programme referred to in points (a), (b) and (c) of paragraph 2 ‘Purposes of Processing’ of this notice, will be retained for as long as you remain a member of the programme and for a period of 5 years following the termination of your membership, unless there is a need for further retention to enable In Love With Words to defend its rights;
– Data processed for marketing purposes, as referred to in point (d) of paragraph 2, ‘Purposes of Processing’, of this notice, will be retained for a maximum period of 24 months;

6. Rights of the data subject
a) request confirmation as to whether or not your personal data are being processed;
b) obtain information regarding the purposes of the processing, the categories of personal data, the recipients or categories of recipients to whom the personal data have been or will be disclosed and, where possible, the retention period;
c) to obtain the rectification or erasure of personal data;
d) to have processing restricted;
e) to have data portability, that is, to receive data from a data controller in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and to transmit it to another data controller without hindrance;
f) to object to processing at any time, including where processing is carried out for direct marketing purposes;
g) to object to automated decision-making relating to natural persons, including profiling.
h) to request from the data controller access to personal data and the rectification or erasure of such data, or the restriction of processing concerning them, or to object to their processing, in addition to the right to data portability;
i) to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent given prior to withdrawal;
j) lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
